Staunton, Waynesboro, Fishersville and Augusta County's
Largest Children's Consignment Sale
In August 2000, St Paul’s United Methodist Church began serving our community with the Lil Lamb's Closet Sale, Because of the incredible reputation, you have helped to give back over $188,000 to area children's organizations in our community! This Consignment Sale is not a fundraiser, it is a ministry within the church, our community and many vital areas within the Waynesboro/Staunton/Augusta county area, including several child-oriented ministries. In August of 2009, St. Pauls UMC passed the torch to Community Fellowship Church of the Nazarene.
How Does This Ministry Work?
People in the community, as well as church families, are asked to bring children’s clothing, maternity clothing and/or nursery items to be sold at the Lil’ Lambs Closet Sale, on consignment. All items will be priced and hung on hangers by the sellers, the clothing must be in very good condition, free of stains and tears and all items must be inspected and approved before being accepted into this sale. The seller sets their own price and will receive 70% of their selling price. The remaining 30% (tax deductible) will be given to area children's organizations as well as a portion to offset the expenses associated with each sale.
There are three sales each year. August, March (or April) and November. Most of our sales fall on the first weekend of the month, but occasionally have to be changed due to scheduling conflicts or holidays. The August sale features Fall/Winter clothing, the March sale is Spring/Summer clothing and the last sale is our famous Toy Sale....just in time for holiday gift giving!.
We rely heavily on volunteers to make this ministry such a success. To entice the community and church members to volunteer their time, we do offer early shopping privileges to those who volunteer their time. We have many shifts to choose from the week of the sale beginning on Monday and ending on Saturday. Depending on the individual sale, each shift ranges anywhere from 3.5 - 4.0 hours. The first half hour is for training. A meal will be offered for you to eat during your training. You will be instructed when registering as to what time your shift starts.
Friday and Saturday the sale is open to the public. Sellers have the option of reducing their items on Saturday.
